10 November 20 - Old Fashioned Window Cleaning

Old Fashioned Window Cleaning in Uckfield, Crowborough, Heathfield and Sussex.

This week we have noticed a few customers mentioning the term Old Fashioned Window Cleaning / Old Fashioned Window Cleaner. In the trade, we call this Traditional Window Cleaning.

Predominantly we use the Water feed pole method of cleaning; however, we do offer Traditional Window Cleaning, and in this news post we would like to go in to further details about the old fashioned ways of cleaning windows.

What is Traditional Window Cleaning?

Trad window cleaning is when a window cleaner applies a cleaning solution to the window using an applicator and then pulling it off manually with the use of a squeegee, followed by wiping down the windowsill and edges with a clean cloth leaving a clean window.

When does Harry's Cleaning use Traditional Methods?

Here at Harry's Cleaning, we clean all internal windows using the traditional methods; we also use Trad methods when we feel it is the best cleaning method or if a customer specifies it. Why don't we always clean windows like this? The reason this is not our primary cleaning method is due to health and safety.

We usually work as one-person teams and being that most properties in the UK are multiple stories this require the use of a ladder, to reach the higher windows.

With an ongoing effort to improve H&S, we only use the ladder when two members are on-site, One person to climb, the ladder and another to foot the ladder. With this in mind, the final price traditionally will be slightly higher in comparison to Water Fed Pole due to the extra staff and time.
