At Harry’s Cleaning, we take pride in offering professional window cleaning in Uckfield and the surrounding areas, always with safety and quality at the forefront of what we do.
Back in July, we became proud members of the Federation of Window Cleaners (FWC) — the UK’s leading professional body for window cleaners. As part of our ongoing commitment to improving our service and maintaining the highest standards, we recently completed the FWC’s “Cleaning Windows Safely” training course, covering both water-fed pole systems and portable ladders.
Why Safety Training Matters
Whether it’s a routine window clean, a fascia and soffit wash, or a full gutter clearance, our goal is to provide every customer with a reliable, professional, and safe service. The Cleaning Windows Safely course ensures we’re working to the very latest industry standards and best practices.
The course covered essential topics such as:
 -
Correct ladder setup and safe working angles
-
Proper use and maintenance of water-fed poles
-
Managing slips, trips, and falls on site
-
 Assessing and controlling potential hazards
-
Creating and updating risk assessments and method statements
Raising the Bar for Safety and Quality
We’re proud to say that Harry’s Cleaning is the only exterior cleaning company in the local area to have gone to the extra effort of completing this level of professional training. It’s a big investment of time and commitment, but it’s one we believe is worth it — because our customers deserve the best.
By carrying out this training and applying what we’ve learned, we’re not only improving our own standards, but also aiming to set the benchmark for safety and quality across the window cleaning industry throughout the UK.
Putting Training into Practice
Completing this course has helped us refine how we operate on every job — from residential homes in Uckfield and Crowborough to larger properties across Heathfield, Framfield, and Buxted. We’re now updating all our risk assessments and method statements to reflect the latest guidance, ensuring that our work remains as safe and professional as possible.
This isn’t just about ticking boxes. It’s about showing our customers that we genuinely care about doing things the right way — safely, responsibly, and to the highest standard.
